B+LNZ is helping students connect with real farmers and the wider agricultural world – right from their classrooms. Through virtual calls, farm visits, guest speakers, and hands-on learning opportunities, we’re inspiring the next generation to discover the people, processes, and possibilities behind New Zealand’s food and fibre sector.

Farmer Time in Schools
- Farmer Time for Schools connects New Zealand farmers with primary and intermediate students through virtual calls, inspiring and educating them about food production and the diverse agricultural industry from farm to fork.
Agribusiness in Schools
- Growing demand for skilled workers in the primary industries has led B+LNZ to team up with St Paul’s Collegiate School and help create New Zealand’s first Agribusiness curriculum for secondary school students. Learn more at Agribusiness in Schools.
Sow the Seed/HATA
- The Horticulture and Agriculture Teachers Association of New Zealand (HATA) is a subject association dedicated to promoting and improving the teaching and learning of Agricultural and Horticultural Science in New Zealand schools.
Connection to sheep and beef farms
We're working to increase connections between schools and sheep and beef farms nationwide. We'll connect schools with young farmer clubs, rural professionals and farmers for farm visits or guest speaker opportunities.
To streamline this process, we need to understand the needs for your school. To be connected to the right people and farmers who are willing to share their experiences please complete the following survey.
Following your survey response, we will facilitate connections where possible to help you find suitable farm visits or speakers, after which you can directly coordinate the details.
