Entries have now closed in this year's Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards with judging of the eight award categories soon to get underway.
B+LNZ's CEO Sam McIvor says they have received some very strong entries and nominations which reflect the depth of talent throughout the sheep and beef sector.
"The judges have a difficult task ahead of them given the high quality of the entries and nominations we have received."
Finalists will be named in early September and the winners announced at the B+LNZ Awards evening which will be held at Te Pae Convention Centre in Christchurch on Thursday, 19 October.
Mr McIvor says tickets for this gala event will go on sale on 1 August via the B+LNZ website and he is encouraging anyone with an interest in sheep and beef industry or food production to secure their tickets early.
"It promises to be a fantastic evening celebrating the people, the technologies and the innovations that make our red meat industry one we can all be proud of."
