About the Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards

The Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards celebrate the people, the innovation, the technologies and management systems that make New Zealand’s grass-based red meat industry world-leading.

The winners will be announced at an Awards Dinner in Napier on 2 February 2022.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards Dinner 

Originally scheduled for 20 October 2021, the Awards dinner will now be held in Napier on Wednesday, 2 February 2022 at the Napier War Memorial Centre. We look forward to celebrating our first Award winners and appreciate the support and understanding of our partners, entrants, nominees and nominators.

Background to the Awards

The new Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards evolved out of the successful Sheep Industry Awards which were an initiative of the Southern South Island Farmer Council and held between 2012 and 2017.

After a robust review involving key stakeholders, the decision was made in 2019 to develop a full sector awards including sheep, beef and dairy beef. The award categories align with B+LNZ’s strategy and goals and reflect changes in the red meat sector.  The awards aim to foster continued excellence, innovation and sharing within the sector.

The Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards are a celebration of the red meat sector. They are an opportunity to showcase to the New Zealand public some of the amazing things happening in the sector and to tell our story.
