2026 B+LNZ Awards entries open

It’s time to recognise the champions of our industry. Think about your farm staff, fellow farmers, sector leaders, teachers, innovators, mentors, scientists, rural champions, and marketers – and nominate them in one of the eight Award categories.

Anyone working in the sheep and beef (dairy beef) industry is encouraged to enter, or nominate someone else, for one or several of the award categories. Entries close 8 December 2025.

Previous finalists and winners have been overwhelmingly positive about the experience and profile they’ve gained through being associated with the Awards.

How to enter/nominate – it’s easy!

  1. Select the category that best reflects the person or organisation you are wanting to nominate.
  2. Complete and submit the online form for that category.

About the award categories

There are eight award categories which fall under People Awards or Business of Farming Awards. They cover farmers, emerging achievers, breeders, scientists, teachers, marketers, technology experts, sector champions, and those who have made a significant contribution over many years.

Tips for entering

If you are unsure how to complete your entry or nomination, here are some tips:

  • Create a login via the category that you would like to enter or nominate for, this means you can go back and complete it later.
  • Start early so you have time to review and add information before submitting.
  • Write to the Award Criteria. Read the question carefully to ensure you understand what the question is asking and focus on the required information. Don’t be tempted to add information that is not relevant.
  • Be succinct in your answers but ensure you provide all information you can. Bullet points are encouraged!
  • Ask another person to review your entry against the entry criteria, as they will often add a different perspective.
