The date has been set for this year’s Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards with Christchurch’s Te Pae Conference Centre hosting the Awards evening on Thursday 19 October.
Beef + Lamb New Zealand Chair Kate Acland says the Awards are an opportunity for the red meat sector to come together and celebrate its people and technologies.
“We have so much to be proud of and the Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards give us the opportunity to shine a light on the many people who contribute so much both locally and nationally.”
Buoyed by the success of last year’s inaugural Awards ceremony in Napier, the organising team is looking forward to bringing the event south to Christchurch.
“I encourage anyone with an interest in the red meat sector to mark the date in the diary and book travel and accommodation early. It is a fantastic night which is guaranteed to make everyone feel very proud of our sheep and beef industry.”
Mrs Acland says nominations for the eight national B+LNZ Award categories open in early June with judging getting underway in August.
“Start thinking about the people on your farm, within your wider business, in your communities and in regional and national organisations who often work behind the scenes to ensure our industry thrives. When nominations open, put their name forward or self-nominate, it is important we take every opportunity to showcase the fantastic work happening in our sector.”
Mrs Acland says Farmlands will once again be Awards partner with the support of the category sponsors for the 2023 B+LNZ Awards.
“We are thrilled to have the continued support of Farmlands and the eight other category sponsors who, like B+LNZ, know how important it is to recognise the skills, talent and innovation that makes New Zealand red meat industry world-leading.”
