Aimed at young employees of the sheep and beef sector, this newly released scholarship seeks to help individuals build their skill base and advance their business knowledge.

The SSI Farmer Council is providing funding of up to $5,000 to support the upskilling and career development of the recipient.

Claire Teutenberg, B+LNZ’s Southern South Island Extension Manager, says the SSI Farmer Council has identified the development of young people in their area as one of their key priorities.

“This scholarship represents a fantastic opportunity for a young farmer in the Southern South Island to enhance their skills and advance their careers in the sheep and beef sector. Don’t miss out on this chance to grow both personally and professionally. Apply today,” she says.

Matt Taylor, B+LNZ SSI Farmer Councillor says investing in young farmers is investing in the future of the industry. “To drive the industry forward we need young and passionate people empowered to do so. By providing them with opportunities to grow and learn, we are ensuring the sustainability and success of our farming communities," he says.

The scholarship will be awarded at the evening event 'A Feast Between Two Beers' on Friday 9 August in Invercargill. Tickets are still available for this event.
