To sign up to e-diaries, create/login to a B+LNZ online account, go to ‘Account settings’ and select the e-diary box – you’ll be asked to pick which region/s you want to receive e-diaries for.

Voting on foot and mouth disease agreement closing soon 

Voting on B+LNZ joining an Operational Agreement between the agricultural sector and the Government on foot and mouth disease readiness and response closes next week. Please read the information you should have received in the mail and have your say online using the unique PIN and password in your letter. Voting closes 2pm, Friday 16 May. More info, including what to do if you didn’t receive a letter and a ​link to a recording of one of the recent webinars​ about this process, at ​www.beeflambnz.com/fmd-vote​. 

B+LNZ urging Government to close carbon farming loopholes

B+LNZ is urging the Government to close loopholes in the guidance around limits on carbon forestry, as concerning news of further whole-farm sales emerges. As outlined in last week’s e-diaries, we have written to Ministers noting the lack of specificity in the guidance is undermining the intent of the limits. We continue to call for action, including through a media release this week – read that here.

SAVE THE DATE: farmer meeting with Minister Hoggard in Gore

Come and hear from Hon. Andrew Hoggard, Minister for Biosecurity and Associate Minister for Agriculture and for the Environment, at a meeting at the Croydon Lodge Hotel in Gore on Monday 26 May, from 3pm.
