Expressions of Interest: Farming for Profit facilitators – Central Canterbury

B+LNZ is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Facilitators to coordinate and deliver the South Otago Farming for Profit Programme and the Southland Farming for Profit Programme. Farming for Profit is B+LNZ's flagship farmer-led extension programme, bringing local farmers together to learn, share ideas, and explore practical solutions to improve farm performance and profitability. Working alongside a local steering group and the B+LNZ Extension team, the facilitator will play a key role in delivering engaging, practical events that inspire learning, encourage discussion, and support on-farm change. Find out more and apply.

Export markets update

B+LNZ’s new Quarterly Market Update pulls together information the B+LNZ Insights team is regularly tracking to inform our levy-funded market access and farm profitability / economic work. Given around 90 percent of NZ’s red meat is exported, it’s important to track market performance, understand key developments and consider how NZ production and profitability could be impacted. View the report.

Making Meat Better website refresh

Making Meat Better – our consumer-facing website offering proven, fact-based information about New Zealand’s sheep and beef sector – has been refreshed and updated. Use this website to share easy to understand info about our farming methods and their health, environmental and economic results. Visit the refreshed Making Meat Better website.

Your input into farm safety

Farmers nationwide are invited to share their thoughts on health, safety, and wellbeing on farm through Safer Farms’ survey. Your feedback helps identify what’s working, what’s not, and what support could make the biggest difference. Plus, you’ll go in the draw to win one of four great prizes! The survey closes on 6 September 2026. B+LNZ proudly supports Safer Farms’ mission to drive practical changes that prevent harm on farm. Take the survey here.
