To sign up to e-diaries, create/login to a B+LNZ online account, go to ‘Account settings’ and select the e-diary box – you’ll be asked to pick which region/s you want to receive e-diaries for.

Entries are open for the 2024 B+LNZ Awards which celebrates the people, innovation, science and technologies that make New Zealand’s red meat sector world-leading. Registrations open for B+LNZ Genetics Sheep Breeder Forum

The Sheep Breeder Forum will be held on 2–3 July in Christchurch, bringing together breeders, scientists, and industry professionals from across New Zealand. Attendees can look forward to interactive pick ‘n’ mix sessions, dedicated time for networking, and breeder group meetings. More information.

Visit B+LNZ site at Fieldays

If you’re heading to Fieldays this weekend, make sure to visit the B+LNZ team at site number PB50. As an official partner of the New Zealand Team this Paris 2024 Olympics, we have a combined site where you can take part in the Tour De Fern – Sprint for the Fern challenge, meet Olympians and be in to win a special prize! Come talk to the B+LNZ team about how our on-farm extension, research and resources are focused on enhancing profitability and productivity. Rebalancing our food system report

B+LNZ’s nutrition team and industry partners reviewed the Rebalancing our food system report drafted by the Public Health Advisory Committee. The report focuses on public health and food system changes to improve New Zealanders' health. B+LNZ and the Meat Industry Association have jointly submitted a response to the Ministry of Health, addressing misinformation and expressing our interest in being involved in future reports. We also highlighted the need for a national nutrition survey.

B+LNZ and DairyNZ welcome next steps in M. bovis programme

This week, B+LNZ and DairyNZ welcomed the Government’s confirmed commitment to implementing a National Pest Management Plan for Mycoplasma bovis (M. bovis). B+LNZ and DairyNZ are partners in the programme alongside the Ministry for Primary Industries. The plan is designed to safeguard results achieved to date and add resilience to the country’s biosecurity system through OSPRI’s management of the M. bovis eradication programme.
