B+LNZ team at Southern Field Days

// B+LNZ // Extension

B+LNZ is looking forward to connecting with farmers at Southern Field Days in Waimumu (11–13 February). If you’re heading along, make sure you stop by stall A144-A145 for a chance to catch up with B+LNZ staff and local Farmer Councillors over coffee and a morning tea.

Field day

Across the three days, our team will be on hand to chat with farmers about our tools, technology, events and opportunities. Bring the kids along – there will be a chance to win a Hunting and Fishing voucher.

We’ll have staff ready to demonstrate Bella, your AI assistant, alongside team members covering genetics, parasite management, and the latest work coming out of Research and Innovation. B+LNZ GM Dan Brier will also be onsite throughout the week for those wanting to talk sector issues, policy or direction.

One of the highlights will be that Southern Field Days coincides with National Lamb Day. On Friday 13 February, we’ll mark the occasion with a celebration on site including a lamb BBQ, Jay and Dunc from The Rock radio bringing energy to the day, history boards and bunting, and the chance to pick up a National Lamb Day t‑shirt.

“We’re really looking forward to having good, honest conversations with farmers,” says Fiona Young, B+LNZ Regional Extension Manager for Southland and Otago.

“Southern Field Days is always a highlight for us – it’s a chance to hear directly from farmers, share what we’re working on, and make sure our tools line up with what’s happening on farm.”
