B+LNZ Director elections in 2022

// B+LNZ

A Director election will be held for Beef + Lamb New Zealand’s (B+LNZ) Central South Island after two nominations were received. As only one nomination was received from incumbent Scott Gower in the Western North Island, no election is required for that district.

Nominations for the 2022 B+LNZ Board of Directors closed at 5pm on Friday 10 December 2021.

Simon Davies of Milton and Nicky Hyslop of Timaru will stand in Central South Island. Nicky is the incumbent Director for the district and is standing for re-election.

Like Nicky, Scott Gower was retiring by rotation after completing his three-year term and was standing for re-election. He is re-elected to the Western North Island district unopposed.

Candidate profiles and voting papers will be posted early February 2022 along with the annual meeting documents, and elections will be conducted postal and internet voting. Election day will be Friday 18 March.

To be eligible to vote a livestock farmer must, on 30 June 2021, have owned at least 250 sheep, or 50 beef cattle, or 100 dairy cattle.

Livestock farmers who meet the criteria in the Central South Island electorate are encouraged to contact B+LNZ on 0800 233 352 to check if they’re on the electoral roll or to get a voter registration form.

The electoral roll will close at 5pm on Friday 21 January 2022.
