Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) is pleased to announce the ten recipients of the inaugural 2026 B+LNZ Agricultural Student Scholarship, created to support emerging leaders in New Zealand’s sheep and beef sector.

The scholarship, valued at $1,500, is awarded to students who have successfully completed at least one year of agricultural-related tertiary study at Massey University, Lincoln University, Otago University or Telford Polytechnic, to go towards their studies.
As part of the programme, scholars also have the opportunity to engage directly in a mentorship with B+LNZ leaders through interactive sessions designed to build industry connections, practical insight, and professional confidence.
Olivia Weatherburn, B+LNZ’s National Extension Programme Manager, says the initiative is an important investment in the future of the red meat sector.
“Supporting future talent is essential to the ongoing success and sustainability of New Zealand’s sheep and beef sector.
“We were blown away by both the quality and quantity of applications. This year’s recipients show real passion, determination, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in our industry.”
