Valued at $1,500, the scholarship is available to students undertaking agricultural-related tertiary education at Massey University, Lincoln University, Otago University, or Telford Polytechnic.

“We know the future of our industry depends on talented, motivated people,” says Olivia Weatherburn, B+LNZ’s National Extension Manager. “This scholarship is about investing in those individuals – helping them build confidence, connections, and the skills they need to thrive in the sheep and beef sector.”

The scholarship offers $1,500 towards studies, and opportunities to deepen connections with the sheep and beef industry and network alongside other scholars. We will also offer the chance to share your journey through an end-of-study update.

“Industry connections open doors that classroom learning can’t. We’re looking for motivated students who want to step up, take charge, and become the next leaders in New Zealand’s sheep and beef sector.”

Successful applicants will attend two interactive sessions on campus each year with B+LNZ representatives, and create a short social media video sharing their experience.

Applications close 23 January 2026.
