Beef + Lamb New Zealand’s recent webinar on freshwater health covered key findings from an independent review of the sediment and E.coli national bottom lines in the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management (NPS-FM), commissioned by B+LNZ.
The webinar featured Dr. Michael Greer, Principal Scientist at Torlesse Environmental author of the independent review, and B+LNZ’s Senior Environment Policy Manager, Dr Paul le Miere.
Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) is calling for urgent changes to the suspended fine sediment NBL and 95th percentile attribute as the review shows the way they were determined was flawed, they are not achievable, and trying to achieve them has significant implications for sheep and beef farmers and rural communities.
