Expressions of interest are now open for the B+LNZ & Ballance NZFAP+ Certification Workshop Series, designed to help farms prepare for and achieve NZFAP and NZFAP Plus certification.

Workshop One dates

  • Wellsford: Wednesday 28 October
  • Kerikeri: Thursday 29 October
  • Dargaville: Friday 30 October

What to expect

This practical, outcomes-focused four-part workshop series is delivered fortnightly over eight weeks.

The programme has been designed to support farms in achieving NZFAP and NZFAP Plus certification, with the goal of having participants fully prepared for their audit by the completion of the workshop series.

What does it cost?

This programme has been subsidised by B+LNZ and supporting partners, resulting in a fee of $750 + GST per farm.

The fee includes the $199 QCONZ online farm plan fee, which may be recoverable.

Workshop content

Sessions 1 & 2

Land & Freshwater Management Action Plan

  • Develop a tailored Land & Freshwater Management Action Plan for your farm.
  • Identify practical actions relevant to your farm and certification requirements.

Session 3

Key Farm Management Plans

Focused sessions covering:

  • Biodiversity monitoring within the Land & Freshwater Management Plan.
  • Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions planning.
  • Adverse weather events response planning.
  • Farm biosecurity plan development.

Session 4

Practical Assessments & Certification Readiness

  • Practical visual soil assessments.
  • Stream health assessments.
  • Review of remaining gaps against the NZFAP Plus checklist.
