Optimising livestock performance for maximum profit

With product prices tracking the way they are, farmers need to make every post a winner.

Following on from the last forage crop field day, we’re taking things a step further by delving into the details of nutrition and animal health. Alongside the science, we’ll explore practical on-farm strategies to optimise livestock performance and profitability.

To do this, we’ll draw on insights from a mix of vets, nutritionists, and a panel of local farmers, who will share their experiences in identifying and managing nutritional gaps, and preventing animal health challenges that can limit performance.

The day also includes a farm tour of the host property, Ongaha, with an opportunity to see some of the development and investment projects that have helped elevate their performance.

The field will be facilitated by Ed Harrison of BakerAg.
