On-farm biosecurity is so much more than disinfectant tub washes of boots at the gate.
Generally, when we think about Biosecurity we go straight to the big guns- M.Bovis and Foot and Mouth. What about diseases you are working hard to avoid? BVD, TB, Drench resistance and then those that we have taught ourselves to accept - Johnes, Footrot.
Join us for this informative and participatory workshop where you can build a plan to protect your patch from things that would be a catastrophic disaster for our sector to the things that cost you annually. Attendees will come away with an understanding of drystock biosecurity guidelines, on farm interventions and practical tools like a Biosecurity WOF to protect their patch.
This Workshop will be facilitated by Will Halliday (BVSc), Senior Manager of Technical Policy for Beef and Lamb New Zealand and supported by the Northern South Island Regional Extension Team.
