After another big year on farm, it’s time to put down the tools and enjoy a well-earned night out at the Marlborough Mid-Winter Dinner. This event has become a firm favorite on the calendar for our local farming community and this year promises to be another great one.

Hear real stories from real farmers

Hear real stories from real farmers, sharing the journeys, challenges and opportunities that have shaped their businesses.

We’ve lined up a couple of outstanding speakers who know what it takes to grow and adapt in farming:

Jojo Wallis

Large-scale deer and cattle farmer with a strong development background. Jojo will share insights from his latest challenge, developing a newly acquired 5,000ha property in the Haka Valley, as well as some great stories from a family deeply connected to both farming and aviation.

Hugh & John Jackson

Farming in Te Akau (just north of Raglan), this father-son duo is currently running approximately 2,000ha, 2,000 cattle and 2,500 ewes. 4 generations ago the initial 240ha was purchased in 1947. With Hugh as the 2025 Young Farmer of the Year and John bringing governance experience in the agricultural education sphere most notably in the development of the Agribusiness curriculum and the development of Growing Future Farmers.

MC

Keeping the evening running smoothly is our MC, Kurt Lindsay from Bayleys.

Meet Kate Acland

Your B+LNZ Northern South Island Director and Board Chair Kate Acland will also be in attendance on the night. Kate will be available the hour before the event commences to answer any specific questions you might have.
