B+LNZ Lamb Survival Workshop

From losses to learning with autopsies

Mountains

Join us for a practical, hands-on lamb autopsy workshop designed to help you better understand why lambs die and how you can reduce losses on your own farm.

Led by experienced veterinarian Donna Hamilton, this interactive session will explore the most common causes of lamb mortality, demonstrate how to carry out a basic on-farm autopsy, and show you what normal and abnormal findings look like.

You'll gain practical skills to identify key health issues, learn what information is valuable to your veterinarian, and discover how timely investigations can lead to better management decisions and improved lamb survival. Whether you've never performed an autopsy or want to build your confidence, this workshop will provide practical knowledge you can take home and put into practice this lambing season.

To ensure good hygiene practice, please have overalls or wet weather gear and boots to wear when performing autopsies.

 Afternoon tea provided.
