UYFB equips women in the sheep, beef and dairy sectors with the skills and confidence to fully participate in their farming business.
Whether you’re farming with others or on your own, you’ll learn what drives your farming business and develop the confidence to step-in to decision making and communicate clearly.
In partnership with Beef + Lamb New Zealand we’re excited to deliver the refreshed Understanding Your Farming Business in four locations in 2026.

- How to add value as an engaged critical farming partner.
- Business planning and decision-making to improve farm performance.
- The drivers & language of your farming business.
- How to find and assess financial information.
Dates and locations
UYFB consists of 2 modules over 3 days
8:30am – 5pm plus inter-module work.
Masterton
- Module 1: Wednesday 2 & Thursday 3 September
- Module 2: Friday 2 October
Timaru
- Module 1: Tuesday 29 & Wednesday 30 September
- Module 2: Thursday 29 October
Fees
- Fees are subsidised by our strategic partners Beef + Lamb New Zealand to $800 + GST per participant.
- Registration requires a refundable $50 deposit.
- Programmes require a minimum of 8 participants to go ahead.
