A proud catchment community working together for a thriving natural environment.
As at October 2019 we are still in the intial stages of setting up a catchment group. We have a tight knit and active community of predominately sheep and beef farmers, with a small ampount of dairy support, cash cropping and lifestyle farms. We also have a village and beach community, all of whom are involved in our group.
Our catchment is made up of predominately clay based soils and our biggest challenges are ecoli in the Taurekaitai Stream and Porangahau River and sediment loss.
