Join us at the Regional Supreme Winner’s Field Day at Clarence and Elise Stolte’s award-winning dairy farm in West Taratahi.
About the day
Clarence and Elise Stolte, owners of Stolte Ag and Greater Wellington Regional Supreme Winners, have spent the past 18 years shaping their 387ha dairy farm into a resilient, high-performing business grounded in clear values and long-term thinking.
Progressing from farm managers to sole owners through a strategic partnership, they have built an operation focused on producing high-quality, nutritious food, supporting their people and community, and protecting the natural environment.
Their commitment to sustainability is evident through significant investment in a composting barn, which has delivered benefits for soil health, animal welfare, and pasture condition. Technology also plays a key role on-farm, with tools such as cow collars and digital communication platforms used to improve efficiency and strengthen team connection.
Environmental stewardship is a priority, supported by extensive native planting, wetland care, and an on-farm nursery supplying plants for both their own property and the wider community. Actively involved in local groups and schools, Clarence and Elise are well known for their strong community spirit. Their farm is a leading example of how values-led decision making can deliver both profitability and positive environmental and social outcomes.
B+LNZ is proud to sponsor the Ballance Farm Environment Awards, supporting farmers who demonstrate excellence in environmental and farm system management.
