B+LNZ Winter Grazing Workshops

Practical, local and farmer-led

winter grazing

About the day

Winter is tough on land, stock, and schedules, however prioritised planning makes all the difference. This autumn, Beef + Lamb New Zealand, ECAN, DINZ, DairyNZ, and MPI are teaming up to deliver a series of practical winter‑grazing workshops across South Canterbury.

These free sessions are designed to help sheep, beef, and deer farmers get ahead of the wet months with real‑world examples, on‑farm tips, and clear guidance before winter flyovers begin. Whether you’re refining your plan or starting fresh, these workshops will set you up to protect your land, your animals, and your peace of mind.

Come along to one of our local events, or join a neighbouring workshop that suits your schedule.

If you cannot make it to these workshops, feel free to head along to these other workshops hosted by ECAN, DairyNZ, DINZ and MPI:

  • 9 April, 10am–12pm, Temuka Alpine Energy Community Centre.
