Facilitator: James Parsons (Virtual Fencing Expert)
James Parsons was the first Halter Beef user in 2023 on his 600-ha hill country farm. He has since specialised in providing virtual fencing advice, water system and grazing plan design to unlock the gains from collars.
Speaker: Bob Thomson
Bob Thomson is one of New Zealand's most experienced agribusiness consultants, with more than 40 years working alongside sheep and beef farmers. Beginning his career with MAF in Hawke's Bay in 1975, he has contributed to major industry initiatives including Monitor Farms, the NZ Beef Improvement Group, sustainable farming standards, and the Landcorp Beef Cows for Profit programme.
After more than 25 years as a private consultant, Bob joined AgFirst in 2005 and established AgFirst Northland. Now based in Waikato, he leads AgFirst Waikato's sheep and beef strategy, helping farmers improve profitability, sustainability, and long-term business performance.
