Porina, grass grub and other insects impacting on pasture performance.

This will be a practical field day exploring the pasture pests that quietly erode feed production and profitability.

We’ll take a close look at porina in particular - their flights, life cycle, and the critical timing that determines whether control succeeds or fails.

With every two porina equivalent to one grazing ewe, these pests are an expensive problem to ignore! This field day will help you understand the scale of the issue and give you the tools to respond with confidence.

Speakers

Hear from Paul Greenbank (NuFarm) and Monty White (Agricom) as they share up‑to‑date insights, management options, and real‑world strategies being used on farms across the region.

The field day will be facilitated by Simon Marshall (Vet Services Dannevirke).
