Before joining neXtgen Agri, Emma spent four and a half years working in the breeding programme at Wairere Rams in Masterton. Following her studies at Massey University, she completed an honours research project focused on using breeding data to improve ram selection. The "Data Drives Dollars" project was undertaken alongside Massey University and Focus Genetics and examined how genetic information can be used to improve on-farm decision making and profitability.

Today, Emma works with farmers to develop practical breeding strategies, identify the right data to record, and use genetic information to make better flock improvement decisions. As part of a certified Sheep Improvement Limited (SIL) bureau, she helps farmers access and utilise New Zealand's national sheep genetics database to drive long-term flock performance.
