Hosted by local farmers Willie Millton & Millie Volckman and supported by their farm consultant, Ed Harrison from BakerAg. This field day is all about sharing their farm system changes, hill country development successes, lessons learned from the downturn and optimising their farm to achieve their goals.
Discussion topics (with stops around the farm) include:
- Farm system pptimisation – aligning stock policies to achieve farm business goals.
- Hill Country Development – with a focus on water systems and infrastructure improvements.
- Land use rationalisation and alternative land use – exploring options like forestry and land retirement for underperforming areas with guest speaker Russell Busby from Orme & Associates.
We’ll kick off the day at the woolshed, then head out on a farm tour where each stop will provide a chance to dive into the key discussion areas. We’ll wrap up back at the woolshed with a few final reflections and enjoy an early BBQ and refreshments, thanks to our generous sponsors ANZ.
