About the Speakers 

Jana Hocken brings more than 20 years of experience practising, leading, teaching and implementing lean and continuous improvement culture and methodologies into companies globally. She started testing these lean tools and principles on farm; to prove they work just as effectively in farming as in other industries. Since then, she has founded The Lean Farm Project to help create awareness of lean in farming across all stock types. 

Phillip and Katherine McCallum are located at Balfour on Rockley Farm where they focus on sheep breeding and finishing and have an Angus stud. In 2020 they expanded their operation to include a dairy unit milking 320 cows that works in tandem with the sheep and beef business. Phillip and Katherine are both committed to continuous improvement and growth, both personally, on-farm and in the local community. They were both participants of the Red Meat Profit Partnership Group that looked in lean farming and have continued to implement on farm as their business has grown.
