B+LNZ is seeking sheep farmers who are passionate about lifting lamb survivability on farm. We’re setting up Lamb Survivability Focus Groups, to get to dig deeper into the real challenges/opportunities farmers face.
With national lamb mortality averaging 15–18%, there’s a huge opportunity to boost productivity and welfare by understanding what’s working, what’s not, and where the biggest knowledge gaps lie.
About the groups
These groups will be a chance to:
- Talk openly about what’s helping or holding back lamb survival on your farm.
- Share your practical experience.
- Gain knowledge from industry experts.
Whether you’re hands-on with lambing or simply set stock your ewes, let’s dig deeper and help provide practical knowledge to overcome this challenge.
Focus groups are kicking off soon, with limited spots available in local areas. A focus group will have 8–12 farming businesses involved, meeting 3–4 times a year.
Keen to be involved?
Register your expression of interest now and be part of the conversation. Together, we can improve lamb survival and the future of sheep farming in New Zealand.
Note: Focus Groups will begin at different times depending on your region. Your local Extension team will be in touch with specific details.
