Speakers

Suzie Denize

Suzie and her husband, are the third generation on a Mangaotaki Valley sheep and beef property near Piopio, Waitomo.

The farm is dominated by Denize Bluffs, massive limestone cliffs running along the front edge of the property. It was always our dream to start a tour featuring Denize Bluffs and when Sir Peter Jackson and The Hobbit team arrived, dreams became reality. They now offer guided tours around this special place with its unusual and stunning rock formations, native forest and spectacular cliffs.

Emily Scott

In 2016, Emily and her husband Ben made a move to Ben's family farm in Waitomo. Emily, from Auckland, found herself captivated by the breathtaking views surrounding them. Convinced that such beauty was meant to be shared, the couple ventured into the world of glamping, establishing their first site in 2017. Fuelled by the overwhelming success of nearly five years with close to full occupancy, they expanded their venture, unveiling a second site in February 2023.

Abbe Hoare

Mother, Farmer, Photographer and Mammographer. And now a Sunflower Entrepreneur.  In an attempt to diversify the income on their 90ha first farm in Pahiatua, Abbe figured a field she could take her own photos in might make her a few dollars while on maternity leave. Fast forward a few years, Abbe along with her Partner Emile de Greeuw and their three girls welcome thousands of visitors in the short sunflower season for luxury picnics, photos and fun.

Monique Neeson

Monique Neeson owns ShearWarmth Wool Blankets with my husband Tim. They are in their twelfth year of blanket making, and their blankets are 100% traceable back to their farm and proudly 100% made in New Zealand.

They farm roughly 2,000 hectares of sheep and beef, rearing 450 to 500 calves yearly in tow with our three kids, Heath 11, Effie 9 and Zadee 7. They live in the middle of nowhere and completely love it and enjoy their slice of paradise. Monique is halfway through her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and enjoys learning new business skills all the time!

Monique is looking forward to sharing her story with you all.
