Worried about drench resistance and rising animal health costs? You’re not alone. Beef + Lamb New Zealand is bringing together a focus group of 10–15 sheep and beef farmers to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing our industry: parasite management.

What will you gain?

  • Over two years, you’ll work alongside fellow farmers, Wormwise facilitators, and animal health experts to design and test integrated parasite management strategies tailored to your farm.
  • This is a hands-on, practical programme – not just theory.
  • You’ll gain skills in faecal egg count (FEC) sampling and interpretation, drench resistance testing, and pasture management strategies that disrupt parasite lifecycles.
  • Through workshops, farm visits, and regular monitoring, you’ll put new tools into practice – from targeted treatments and cross-grazing to genetics and refugia strategies.
  • Healthier stock, less reliance on chemicals, and slowing the march of drench resistance.
  • By joining, you’ll build confidence in parasite management, improve productivity, and be part of a farmer-led solution to managing parasites on farm.
