B+LNZ Farmer Development Scholarship

We are offering a scholarship of up to $7,500 to support passionate sheep and beef farmers who are committed to advancing their farm businesses and the wider sector.

This scholarship is designed to invest in farmers who are eager to build skills, explore innovative practices, and adopt progressive systems that enhance productivity, sustainability, and resilience. 

Funding can be used for learning, professional development, study tours, or practical initiatives that drive meaningful on‑farm change. Successful applicants will demonstrate ambition, curiosity, and a desire to lead by example – sharing knowledge and contributing to a stronger, future‑focused sheep and beef industry.

Eligibility criteria 

  • Aged 20+ years Actively involved/employed in the sheep and beef sector. 
  • Located in Otago or South Canterbury. 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the industry.
