This Better Ram buying workshop will provide sheep farmers with a practical guidance on assesing genetic merit, using selection indexes, and be able to implement online tools such as nProve, to make informed decisions when purchasing rams this sales season.

- Establishing breeding goals
How to identify what you want from your rams and what your looking for in your flock genetics.
- Understand ram catalogues
How to interpret and utilize genetic data and selection indexes, when ram buying decisions.
- Understanding genotype vs phenotype
Understand the difference and the relationship when selecting rams. SHEEP nPROVE Be given an introduction of nProve. Be able to utlise the app to help select studs or rams that align with your properties breeding objectives.
- Hands-on practice
At the summary of the workshop a mock auction will happen to give attendees a chance to implement there new knowledge when selecting rams.
