Beef + Lamb New Zealand and Agricom invite you to join us for the first in a seasonal series of Agronomy 101 workshops.

About the workshop

Autumn to Winter- with farm tour of Darrochs 400 ha dairy support and beef fattening grazing property. 

  • How do you choose winter feed? Feed types, purpose and nutritional value. 
  • What goes into growing it? Establishing winter feed crops, best practice. 
  • What is the plan to utilise feed? Monitoring, Measuring and Yielding. 
  • Planning ahead. Managing livestock grazing during winter? Cropping rotations. Supplementary feed. 

You will get to apply knowledge and learnings with scenarios fit for a range of farm systems and enjoy plenty of time to walk and talk in paddocks.

Lunch will be provided. Please come prepared for all weather.

2wd vehicles are suitable for this farm tour.
