The annual B+LNZ Stock Number Survey provides an assessment of the national sheep flock and beef cattle herd between 30 June 2025 and 30 June 2026. It summarises the results of a survey used to estimate the number of sheep and beef cattle on hand at 30 June, providing an early indication of changes in livestock numbers before Statistics New Zealand livestock figures for 2026 are available.
