This week’s notices:

Iran conflict and fuel supplies: FAQs for farmers

We know there’s a lot of concern among farmers about current and potential impacts of the Iran conflict on fuel and supply chains. To help address common questions, B+LNZ has compiled FAQs outlining what we know to date, what B+LNZ is doing and what farmers can do right now. B+LNZ continues to work closely with the Government, feeding information about farmers’ fuel needs to ensure you’re able to keep operating now and throughout each of the four phases of the Government’s fuel response. In the meantime, we recommend farmers keep in close contact with their suppliers including stocking agent or processors, fertiliser representative, topdressing pilots or other support services that may be affected if fuel supplies become constrained.

Beef and sheep farmers recognised in BFEA regional awards

Congratulations to everyone who took home prizes at the Otago and Southland regional Ballance Farm Environment Awards last week. They include:
– Ben and Rebecca Trotter of Black Peak Farming, Alpine Fresh and Red Bridge Berries who won the B+LNZ Livestock Farm Award for the Otago region.
Tony and Michelle Roberts and Kate Roberts & Mark Lieshout of Top Deck Trading who were named the Southland Regional Supreme Winners as well as winning the B+LNZ Livestock Farm Award for Southland.

How do you manage parasites? B+LNZ wants to know

Parasites and drench resistance are getting harder to control, so B+LNZ is ramping up support through research, on‑farm trials, farmer learning groups, and Wormwise. We’re running a short, anonymous survey to help us focus our work where it will make the biggest difference. Your responses, alongside insights from our Livestock Parasite Management groups, will show what’s working and where more support is needed. It takes just five minutes, and your input directly shapes the tools, resources, and research we invest in. Take the survey here.
