Why our website looks a bit different

// B+LNZ

This week the upgraded B+LNZ website went live. We had to upgrade the site because it used old technology, and while we were doing this it made sense to make some cost-effective improvements.

I pad farmers

Regular users of our website will notice some changes but the breadth and volume of information for farmers remains the same.

The B+LNZ website was last upgraded in 2016 and the technology it used is reaching its end of life in November this year. That means that not upgrading wasn’t an option – without an upgrade, there would have been risks like security breaches or the website not working at all.

While we had to upgrade, it made sense to take the opportunity to make improvements based on user feedback at the same time. These improvements include:

  • a refreshed homepage
  • improved search
  • an updated structure so our information is easier to find
  • new navigation so users can more easily navigate between pages.

While some content may be in a different place, the improved search function and other changes should make things fairly easy to find in the upgraded site.

We’ve worked hard to ensure that content has been moved across from the old website seamlessly and is up to date, but there may be some things we’ve missed or haven’t quite got right yet. If there’s anything you’re concerned about, please email enquiries@beeflambnz.com
