Come along and learn more about this award-winning sheep and beef farm and the principles that guide its operation under the Oromahoe Trust.
In addition to presentations by Bill Tane, Oromahoe Chair, and Dean Candy, Farm Manager, the farm tour will include the following guest speakers and presentations:
- Jenny Gillanders - Northland Regional Council: previous and current riparian and planting projects at Oromahoe & funding available to landowners.
- Dean Candy: Retirement of erosion prone land to capture environmental and economic opportunities.
- Thomas Botica - Farmax/FarmIQ: Embracing technology and capturing data.
- Craig Paterson - Iplex: Water systems and techno farming for productivity and economic performance.
- Andrew Drysdale - AgFirst: Insights into driving the productivity and financial performance of the farm system while balancing environmental sustainability.
Schedule
- 10am: Sign in and cuppa.
- 10:20am: Housekeeping, mihi and introductions.
- 10:30am: Presentation and speakers.
- 11am: Farm tour, with two stops for presentations.
- 1pm: Closing at Oromahoe Marae.
- 1:15pm: Lunch courtesy of Northland Regional Council.
