NEW: Beef + Lamb New Zealand has put together advice for farmers to assist if you are wanting to make your own submission on the Zero Carbon Bill.

The New Zealand Government is asking for feedback on its Zero Carbon Bill.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand has summarised the Government’s proposal to help sheep and beef farmers get involved in the public consultation process.

We have also put together a submission template and advice for farmers to help make it easy for you to have your say on the proposals.

We are developing a submission on behalf of farmers, but as agriculture is central to many of the proposals being put forward it’s important that farmers also share their feedback with decision makers, as this will hold more weight than just your industry good body submissions standing alone. We will also share what our position is once it has been developed.

There are a number of public consultation meetings happening in your region being run by the Ministry for the Environment if you want to hear directly from Government about the proposals.

Consultation on the Bill runs until 5pm 19 July 2018.
