Voting opens for B+LNZ Annual Meeting resolutions, Annual Report 2019 released

// B+LNZ

Voting is now open for Beef + Lamb New Zealand’s (B+LNZ) two resolutions to be presented at the Annual Meeting.

Three farmers

The two resolutions being put forward at B+LNZ’s Annual Meeting at 11am on Thursday 26 March 2020 at the Devon Hotel and Conference Centre in New Plymouth are:

  • an increase in the total aggregate amount payable by way of directors’ fees (4 percent for the Chairman and 2 percent for each director) and to establish a pool of $20,000 for additional responsibility taken on by individual directors to give effect to the recommendations of the Directors Independent Remuneration Committee,
  • that KPMG be appointed as B+LNZ Ltd’s auditor for the year ending 30 September 2020.

To be eligible to vote, a livestock farmer must, on 30 June 2019, have owned at least:

  • 250 sheep, or
  • 50 beef cattle, or
  • 100 dairy cattle.

Once farmers have received their voting packs, they can vote either online or by returning their voting papers by mail. If farmers are returning their voting papers by mail, it is recommended that these are put in the post no later than Friday 13 March 2020 so they reach the Returning Officer before the close of voting at 2pm Friday 20 March 2020.

If you have not received your pack within ten days, please call the free phone election helpline 0800 666 040.

Farmers are able to vote on these resolutions in person or by proxy at the Annual Meeting too, with full details about this in the voting packs that have been sent to farmers on B+LNZ’s electoral roll across the country.

B+LNZ’s 2019 Annual Report is also now available on the B+LNZ website ahead of the Annual Meeting. Along with the organisation’s financial statements, the Annual Report surveys the wide range of work B+LNZ undertook on behalf of farmers in the past financial year.

Registrations for B+LNZ’s Annual Meeting will open on Friday 14 February on B+LNZ’s website www.beeflambnz.com
