Hurunui Waiau River Regional Plan Change 1

Environment Canterbury (ECan) have notified Plan Change 1 (PC1) to the Hurunui Waiau River Regional Plan and are inviting submissions on the proposed plan change.

PC1 proposes several changes to the existing plan. The changes set out the definition of dryland farming and the conditions that need to be met in order for dryland farmers to qualify as a permitted activity. It also defines change of land use, winter grazing, and other terms that are not unique to dryland farming.
