CEO Sam McIvor says B+LNZ is delighted with the calibre of the companies and organisations that have been willing to get in behind the Awards as sponsors.
“Our red meat sector is world-leading and these Awards provide a platform from which we can tell our story, celebrate success and share knowledge. We are thrilled that other companies and organisations share our willingness to acknowledge the people, the technologies and innovations that make our industry great.”
The sponsors are AgResearch, Rabobank, Alliance, Silver Fern Farms, Gallagher, Datamars Livestock, Ballance Agri-Nutrients and FMG.
“All of these companies are industry-leaders and they join Farmlands, as the Awards partner, to support the awards which are the first of their type.”
While nominations are rolling in, Mr McIvor is reminding farmers – and anyone working in the red meat sector – to get their entries and nominations before entries close on 27 August.
He says there are some great examples of technology and innovation being applied both on farm and across the red meat supply chain, and the Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards are an opportunity for sharing information and fostering excellence.
“We are encouraging anyone involved in our industry to either enter or nominate someone they know is making a difference.”
The eight award categories are: Emerging Achiever Award, People Development Award, Significant Contribution Award, Rural Champion Award, Science and Research Award, Technology Award, Innovation Farming Award and Market Leader Award.
Winners will be announced at a Gala Showcase in Napier on 20 October.
