B+LNZ supports proposed changes to NAIT

Proposed changes to the National Animal Identification and Tracing (NAIT) Act announced by Minister for Biosecurity Damien O’Connor are sensible says Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) and the organisation is looking forward to working with the Minister and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) on progressing the changes and improving NAIT.

“Beef + Lamb New Zealand is pleased to see that the Ministry for Primary Industries listened to feedback from the consultation process and have proposed sensible changes to the NAIT scheme,” says B+LNZ’s Manager Technical Policy Dr Chris Houston.

“We’re looking forward to working with the Government and MPI on progressing and implementing these changes to improve NAIT”.
