Beef + Lamb New Zealand starts the search for an independent director

Beef + Lamb New Zealand plans to appoint an independent director to its board and has begun the search.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand Chairman, James Parsons said the board was looking to appoint a director with knowledge in either strategic science investment, IT and emerging technologies with customer reach, government relations, and regulatory policy – particularly environmental.

Parsons said this was a newly created position designed to bring independent judgement and outside experience to the board. Beef + Lamb New Zealand’s current board composition is six farmer-elected directors who are regionally representative and two meat industry appointees.
