B+LNZ Onetai Farm Programme Final Field Day

With a goal of maximising profitability while improving the environmental footprint, Onetai Station is B+LNZ’s Environmental Focus Farm.

Getting it done: Farm business sustainability in an uncertain environment

Come along and see how environmental stewardship, productivity and profitability go hand-in-hand.

Using modelling tools such as Farmax and Overseer, combined with expert advice, the team will share the results from three years of modelling, monitoring and development of the farm.

Lunch provided.

Special thanks to our sponsors Waikato Regional Council, BNZ, Farmlands, Crusader Meats, New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Centre and Farmax.

Topics for discussion

  • Onetai Station – Where we’ve been and looking forward. What does a multi-generational farm look like with the implications of GHG, water and biodiversity?  What do the numbers tell us about our options for the short and long term?
  • Regulation and Policy – What does this mean for farming and how do we assess our landscapes and manage appropriately?
  • What does a carbon constrained world mean for Onetai?

Biosecurity

When attending a B+LNZ event please ensure you have clean footwear and vehicles are not carrying fresh muck or vegetation. This will help reduce the risk of spreading weeds, pests and diseases onto our host farms and across our country. To stay clean, we need to be clean.
