Every year, Beef + Lamb New Zealand sponsors two young people to attend the Tri-Lamb Group's Young Leaders' Programme.
What is Tri-Lamb?
Beef + Lamb New Zealand, the American Sheep Industry Association and the Sheep Council of Australia collectively form the Tri-Lamb Group.
It was established in 2004 to grow demand for sheep meat in the US – mainly by increasing consumers' awareness of the nutritional value of lamb. Since then its purpose has expanded and now includes a range of objectives aimed at improving all facets of sheep meat production and marketing.
The Young Leaders' Programme
The Tri-Lamb Group meets annually – and included is a programme for six young delegates from the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
The programme is designed to create a forum for young producers and industry leaders to share ideas, network and broaden their understanding of sheep production practices in all three countries. It includes a range of industry-based events and opportunities, which may take place in the US, Australia and/or New Zealand.
Each country puts forward two delegates – with Beef + Lamb New Zealand covering the costs of the New Zealand delegates.
